and drug consumption/dependency affects individual health
and work performance in terms of safety, efficiency, productivity
and attendance. In addition, it can have a detrimental
effect on colleagues and dependants. As a responsible
employer, companies may recognise the need to take measures
to address the issue of alcohol and drugs in the workplace.

can provide and impliment policies which have been developed
to protect the health and safety of employees and to comply
with relevant legislation.
The
confidentiality of all meetings and records will be strictly
maintained, unless the employee agrees otherwise. In exceptional
circumstances, where an individual is involved in disciplinary
proceedings, this support may not be provided. However,
medical reports and any other relevant factors will be
fully considered.
